All The World’s A Stage by Guy Hale

In the final instalment of The Comeback Trial trilogy, Jimmy Wayne has set off on his major tour of Europe, selling out the likes of the Royal Albert Hall and Zenith, Paris. While Jimmy's fame is reaching dizzying heights, behind-the-scenes crime bosses, Jack Lantern and George Digbeth, are scheming ways to bring him crashing back down to earth. But it's not just these two he should be worried about. Jimmy's adventures in Europe have drawn the attention of crime families across London, Paris, southern Italy and Madrid and everyone is battling for a piece of the action. From recovering valuable stolen artwork to his mother's romantic escapades, will Jimmy survive the mayhem of this whirlwind tour or will the dubious, murderous circumstances to which he owes all his success, be exposed, for once and for all...?

Review

‘All The World’s A Stage’ is the thrilling conclusion to the ‘Comeback Trilogy’ and was packed full of humour, music, bad guys and action! This is book three in the series and although it can be read as a standalone novel I thoroughly recommend reading the whole series as they are fantasticly unique books! In fact, I am bereft that the series is now over as I would have stayed in this world for much longer if I was able to!

Jimmy Wayne has hit the big time! Him and the band are about to head off to Europe to go on a sell-out tour, after the success of the album and a residence in Las Vegas. However, Jack Lantern, the Vegas gangster and his even more terrifying mother, Ma Lantern have plans to make money off his tour. But these are the only gangster Jimmy has to worry about as the European crime Lords are not happy about Jack and Ma heading to their countries and want a piece of the action. All Jimmy wants to do is play music but will he survive to be able to do just that?!

This was one action-packed read, it was relentless! These books are such good fun, full of laugh-out-loud moments, amazing characters and a brilliantly unique story! Jimmy is the strangest serial killer I have ever read about as he really does have a heart of gold. This was a fitting finale for him - selling out the Albert Hall, meeting his heroes and forming new bonds. He also has a great cast of friends to call upon - Kid and Askel, David and John R Deal. I'm fascinated with all of these and they all have brilliant backstory and I would easily read numerous books about them. Hint hint Guy! And of course there is the brilliant Wendy, ghost extraordinaire who I just utterly loved. That's just the good guys! The baddies - oh gosh Guy has managed to create such a collection of characters for these. But the best has to be Ma Lantern and my revulsion for her is a testimony to the standard of Guy’s writing and his sick imagination! She really does need to be experienced to be believed and she will linger in my consciousness for quite some time!

Guy is has now become an auto-buy author for me as I have been wowed by this series! His standard of writing, his brilliant characters and highly innovative plotting! This book was a cracking read and I have no hesitation in recommending the whole series! I can't wait to see what he does next!

Let me know if you pick this one up!
