I absolutely loved this book!
Fans of Agatha Raisin are going to love this book - cosy crime, village intrigue, love interests and a Drake! I do love when there is a humorous animal involved.
The characters which Caroline came up with are amazing. I loved Hattie - good back story, doesn’t take life too seriously and has a good nose for finding out stuff. But the other characters were as well formed - Alf being one of my favourites.
The story was complex enough to make it hard for you to guess what was coming, maybe a tad too many red herrings but we got there in the end! I also love a good showdown like that - makes me think of classic crime big reveal i.e. Christie.

She is based in the UK but has a great fondness for travel and escapes whenever she can. A public speaker, which includes talks and lectures on cruise ships world-wide, Caroline is also a consultant and food writer. She is a member of the Romantic Novelist’s Association, the Society of Women’s Writer’s & Journalists and the Society of Authors and writes articles and short stories, contributing to many publications. In her spare time, Caroline can be found trekking up a mountain or relaxing with her head in a book and hand in a box of chocolates.
