This was a welcome return to the Kate Marshall series and I have been an avid reader of these books since I partook in a Tandem readalong for the opening chapter! To be honest I have been in a bit of a reading and Insta slump and this book helped me forgot about everything and just enjoy the story and what a story we readers got. It was dramatic from the off, we saw Kate struggle with life, Tristan become more involved and a twisty story that keeps the reader guessing! The reveal was brilliant and I totally was not expecting it at all!

When Kate suffers an accident by getting caught in a riptide whilst swimming one morning she needs to spend some time in hospital to recover. Her bedside companion Jean tells her the story of when her grandson went missing one night whilst camping on Dartmoor. Jean hires Kate and Tristan to find out what really happened that night, did he wander off and fall into a nearby river or was something more sinister the reason behind it?
