Review

‘Eyes of Glass’ is an engaging thriller that delivers a high-octane ending! The authors are both new to me but I will keep my eyes opened for what ever they do next as this was an enjoyable read. I always wonder about the writing process when it is two or more authors collaborating on a book. Do they write alternating chapters etc? Anyway my point is that this seemed as if it was one voice all the way through. There were no differing tones at all which is very impressive!

After losing her own mother to suicide, Lyra quickly bonds with Dee’s teenage daughter Chloe. Lyra is invited to America to stay with the family and at their beachfront mansion it soon becomes clear that not everything is as it seems.

Did this book at times seem unbelievable? Yes. Did it distract from it being an entertaining read? No! It really gave me vibes of the TV show ‘Revenge’ with its beach side setting and lies and secrets! And I loved that programme so I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was fast-paced and packed full of tension and I flew through it in a couple of sittings! I thought Lyra’s character was cleverly constructed and I thought her backstory was a strong concept!
